To start your day; cleanse/rinse/tone, then apply a pea sized amount of balm and massage gently into skin. For enhanced hydration, apply when face is still wet from toner.
Founded by Amanda Whitney in 2022, Soft n' Fat came to be because tallow came into her life and changed it forever. The first time Amanda ever used a tallow product, she was working on a farm in the desert of Central Oregon; the base of the cascades mountain range - her home. It's one of the most beautiful places she's ever been, but also one of the harshest. The soil - so thirsty and dry - stripped the skin of its moisture far faster than you could keep up with. All spring and summer she'd slather her hands over and over with any and every oil she had in her herbal apothecary cabinet. Wonderful olive and sweet almond oils infused with healing herbs she harvested from her garden. But day after day, they seemed to just grow drier and drier. Amanda's cuticles would peel back and her skin began to crack. She blamed it on the soil and long days in the garden. Then one day a fellow herbalist friend gifted her a golden yellow jar filled with that which would change her whole perspective on everything she'd previously learned about skincare. It was a home-rendered tallow salve. Amanda had never heard of tallow at that point. And even after almost a decade of making herbal concoctions, she had absolutely no idea that people even used animal products in this way! She rubbed that golden goodness all over her hands and arms and could feel her skin come alive and all but begin weeping. Her skin was penetrated with a level of moisture it’d never known. And it lasted. After a week of using it, her skin improved. She was amazed. Amanda began researching and realized that humans have been using animal fats on their skin for millennia. So she began experimenting, and Soft n' Fat was born. Always focused on supporting regenerative farms and local farmers, Soft n' Fat honors the Earth every step of the way.
